Who are we?

We simply wish to be helpful to those who are afflicted.

„We are not an organization in the conventional sense of the word. There are no fees or dues whatsoever. The only requirement for membership is an honest desire to stop drinking. We are not allied with any particular faith, sect or denomination, nor do we oppose anyone. We simply wish to be helpful to those who are afflicted.” (Alcoholics Anonymous, str. IX-X).

"I know i must get along without liquor, but how can i? Have you a sufficient substitute? Yes, there is a substitute and it is vastly more than that. It is a fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. there you will find a release from care, boredom and worry. Your imagination will be fired. Is AA for me?

Only you can decide whether you want to give AA a try or if you think it can help you.

We who are in AA came because we finally gave up trying to control our drinking. We still hated to admit that we could never drink safely. Then we heard from other AA members that we were sick. We found out that many people suffered from the same feelings of guilt, loneliness and hopelessness that we did. We found out that we had these feelings because we were sick with alcoholism.
We decided to try to face up to what alcohol had done to us. Here are some of the questions we tried to answer honestly. See how you do. Remember, there is no disgrace in facing up to the fact that you have a problem.
